Energy-Wise Condos and Co-ops Study Group

Condominiums and cooperatives not only house a significant number of DC residents, but they also offer opportunities to save energy and make residents more comfortable. There is a lot of wisdom in experience among board members about the best ways to manage and to invest in better practices, and we want to capitalize on it and share that wisdom.

Board of directors for condo and co-ops are invited to a session to discuss ways to improve the efficiency and performance of their building systems. On the morning of Saturday, Sept. 25th, an initial meeting board members will be held in downtown DC to kick off the effort.

Date – Saturday Sept. 25th

Meeting Place – 1425 K St NW

Meeting time 10 am

RSVP Required
robert.thomason@gmail.com

The idea is to develop a network of condo and co-op board members who are serious about best practices of energy efficiency and system performance. The basic agenda of the first meeting is simple. We want to:
1. Introduce some of the work that has already been done on the effort;
2. Find out what active boards are most interested in learning in the near future; and
3. Determine the best ways to share best practices, both online and in face-to-faceĀ  sessions.

The Sept. 25th meeting will be limited to 15 people who are or hope to be active with their board of directors. Space is limited and we are trying to foster a deep discussion focused on current issues in condo and co-op energy use. Please contact robert.thomason@gmail.com, giving the name of your condo, your role on the board or energy/green committee and what issue is most important to you.
