So everybody has been wondering about what the “state” of this grand home is. Well as everyone knows in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood this is not your typical home, it stands out from the rest for many different reasons. As a real estate agent we have to deal with all kinds of people some being a bit more challenging than others.
Well after a folly of solid offers the seller agreed to accepting one with a Washington area developer as noted in the October 21st Urban Turf post.
After working with the seller since November of 2009 through September of 2010, garnering all the press and media attention that was required to sell the property and endless discussions with agents / developers, those involved with the current sale have come to find out that the seller had hired a local DC attorney Paul Strauss who had other plans for all those involved from the beginning, which involved 4 extended months to negotiate the original offer as well as removing any and all compensation from the sale for either of the brokerages that are involved.
It is unfortunate to have a real estate transaction take shape like this and with emails being fired off from attorney’s as seen below has you actually wondering where this sale will end up.

“Mr. Kiefer -
You have again, failed to provide us with any written documentation of any listing agreement which names you as the broker for Developmental Corp., despite your assertions that you have a current valid listing agreement or even copies of e-mails which purport to back up this claim.
Even more disturbing, it was suggested to me that you have illegally entered the property owned by my client, Developmental Corp. sometime today. You have no legal right to enter this property, and should you trespass on this property again, I have instructed my client to contact the police department and seek to have you removed forcibly if necessary.
The President of the corporation has requested that you no longer attempt to communicate directly with any of the corporation’s officers, directors, or employee’s, and instead direct any communications you may have which relate to this entity or it’s property holdings in the District of Columbia to me at my office.”
